How Distace Supervision Works

Fee for Services

The fee of $ 125.00 has been adopted as the monthly fee for payment of supervision services. This fee will entitle the supervisee to receive four (4) clinical hours of individual supervision (a clinical hour being 45-50 minutes) and two (2) hours of group supervision each month. The specific format for individual supervision will depend on the needs of the supervisee. The formats of supervision that may be counted as individual supervision can be found on page 4. Group supervision will consist of a monthly 2-hour group, during which time group members will have an opportunity to receive feedback from the supervisor as well as peers.

Evaluation

The workshops in which you are enrolled and this supervision require some form of evaluation. Throughout the semester you will receive timely feedback related to your professional and skills development. A more comprehensive evaluation will occur at the end of the semester on your course-provided rating form. Your growth will be discussed throughout the semester; therefore, the semester-end evaluation will contain nothing we haven’t processed.

Legal and Ethical

As a Licensed Professional Counselor, Registered Play Therapist and Supervisor, and National Certified Counselor, I adhere to the legal and ethical standards set forth by each of these bodies. Also as mentioned earlier, supervision is not intended to be utilized as personal counseling. The content of our supervision is confidential, except for the limits to confidentiality as describe in the legal and ethical standards set forth by the ACA, APT, NBCC, and any other relevant professional bodies. As a supervisee, the individual is bound by and expected to conduct himself or herself in a manner required by the State of Mississippi, the Ethics Code of ACA, APT, NCC, and any other relevant professional bodies.

Statement of Agreement

Signing a distance contract for supervision is for the sole purpose of supervising the individual’s training in play therapy, utilization of play therapy skills, and application of play therapy techniques. The individual and his or her site supervisor, if not yet licensed, maintain full responsibility for all clinical decisions and actions. If the individual is licensed as a mental health practitioner, he or she is fully responsible for all clinical decisions and actions. Under these conditions I assume no legal, moral, or clinical responsibilities for the practitioner's actions whether intended or not.
