Welcome

This site is here to help future Play Therapists in Mississippi gain the supervision requirements neccessary to become a Registered Play Therapist. There are a very small number of Registered Play Therapist Supervisors in the state of Mississippi, but we are reaching out with distance supervison to people who may not have access to a local supervisor.

Purpose

Supervision has two main purposes. The first is to provide you with immediate feedback on your clinical interventions and skills. The second is to provide you an opportunity to process your thoughts and feelings associated with working with clients. The supervisor-supervisee relationship is similar to the counselor-client relationship in that you will be expected to actively participate in the process. My practice as a supervisor is influenced by the Discrimination Model of supervision. Within this model I may function as a teacher, consultant, and/or counselor. However, it should be noted that supervision sessions are not intended to be utilized for personal counseling.
